Tradition meets innovation | Albert - Seminar- und Wellnesshotel Stoos
You don’t have to go far away to discover beautiful places. Sometimes they are right on our very doorstep. To escape the stress of everyday life, collect new strength, unwind and charge your batteries again, you will find just the right thing in one of the most beautiful natural paradises in the canton of Schwyz: the Seminar- und Wellnesshotel Stoos. Located directly on the car-free plateau Morschach-Stoos, the Seminar- und Wellnesshotel Stoos offers an impressive and unique view of the mountain panorama and the landscape around the popular Lake Lucerne. The hotel lies at 1’300 meters above sea level and can only be reached via the steepest funicular railway in the world from Schwyz / Schlattli or by cable car from Morschach.
We had the pleasure to enjoy a wonderful, carefree and sunny day above the fog with culinary treats from the restaurant “Albert”. The restaurant “Albert” offers first-class culinary delights in a convivial atmosphere. It was generously redesigned in 2012, resulting in a brighter, fresher and bigger appearance. They integrated 59’380 handmade larch shingles, oak, leather and black plate to design a modern and warm interior - without losing sight of tradition. The surprising creations at the “Albert” are based on classic Swiss cuisine, which are interpreted by Head Chef Carla Duschletta in a variety of classic, individual and avant-garde ways. They attach particular value on fresh, seasonal and regional products as well as sustainable fisheries.
Carla spoiled us with a delicious 4-course menu, which is normally served for dinner. It included an amuse-bouche, which was a new interpretation of classic “Älpler” macaroni.
As a starter, we had a “Brüggli” trout from Sattel with beetroot purée, beetroot ravioli, white cabbage and radish sweet and sour.
For the main course, we enjoyed a duet of “Stoos” veal (saddle and ragout) with a maple-sage sauce, potato mousseline, baby vegetables and cheese from alp “Laui” ...
...and for dessert, “Felchlin” chocolate mousse with a slice of linzercake, banana and apricot.
All the dishes were harmoniously balanced and tasted sensational, thanks to their refusal to compromise on the quality of the ingredients. The restaurant „Albert” serves culinary treats of high level - vigorous and creative, with fresh seasonal and local produce. The kitchen team around Carla Duschletta reinterprets traditional Swiss cuisine, without looking artificial. The relation to the Swiss culture is always maintained. As if that was not enough, you get a stunning view for free.
