What could be nicer than sitting at a table with friends, eating good food and simply enjoying life? We don't know the answer, but what we do know for sure is, that there is a café in Zurich-Wipkingen, where a lot of eating, drinking and just living is going on.
A café for the neighbourhood, open all day and with a continuous meal offer. Friendly, bright and loving. A home for employees, friends and guests - a Café des Amis.
With its dreamy interior and a large terrace, the Café des Amis brings a bit of French lifestyle to Zurich and exudes a feeling of freedom. High curved windows, used wooden tables and chairs combined with playful elements give the Café des Amis a charming Art Nouveau look. A small gallery in the heart of the room imparts the café soul and spirit.
The Café des Amis is not only a beautiful place to linger, but also serves really good food. No wonder it is always packed full. On Saturday and Sunday, the café turns into a real brunch paradise. Delicacies such as croissants, eggs with bacon, various cheeses and cold cuts can be ordered until 4 pm.
If you cannot make up your mind because of all the goodies, order the étagère des amis for two and enjoy a large selection of marvelous treats. The whole thing is served on a 3-storey whatnot and includes croissants, various types of bread, butter, honey, jam, fried eggs with bacon, various cheeses, raw ham, smoked salmon, fruits, Nutella crêpes and fruit yoghurt.
During our Sunday visit to Café des Amis, we ordered the avocado fan and the Greek yoghurt with homemade granola besides the étagère for two. Everything tasted enchanting and was of high quality. They use local and regional products from ecological farming and completely renounce the use of palm oil and Nestlé products. Their chocolate spread is homemade and their bread comes from a bakery in Wiedikon.
In addition to the fantastic brunch, the Café des Amis also offers a delicious lunch and dinner menu. Moreover, there is a weekly menu with affordable menus including a soup or salad.
We are truly in love with this cute café with its large, cozy terrace and charming interior. The French flair and its lively ambience invites you to enjoy a relaxed breakfast, lunch or dinner with friends. The Brunch at Café des Amis is a real recommendation, where not only the offer, but also the price is right. A bientôt!
