Bomb Brunch & Bumblebees | Bros, Beans & Beats

Sometimes it only takes two buddies with an idea, lots of love for coffee culture, urban art and good music to create something splendid. The boys from Bros, Beans & Beats show how it is done and brew their way to one of the hottest coffee spots in Zurich.

The location could not fit better: In the middle of the upcoming Kreis 3 near the Wiedikon railway station, the coffee bar Bros, Beans & Beats blends seamlessly into its surroundings. The modern building with its simple concrete walls, alternately decorated with paintings from various Zurich artists, exudes a cool and relaxed vibe. Some tables and a large sofa corner invite you to chill and enjoy a freshly made coffee or drink. Even more space to chill offers the cute and cosy terrace, which invites you to linger on warmer days.

In addition to various excellent coffee creations, Bros Beans & Beats also serves gorgeous sweet treats, sandwiches, small lunch dishes and a really tasty brunch. Of course, we had to test their brunch on a warm Sunday outside on the beautiful terrace. The brunch can be enjoyed on Saturday and Sunday from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm. It is worth to be there early, as no reservations are accepted and the seats are very popular.

The brunch menu contains 12 dishes, which offer something for every taste. A signature dish is the "Big Plate" with cold cuts, cheese, organic jam, birchermüsli, fruits, homemade cream cheese, butter and slow egg on salad. Other favourites are slow egg on avocado feta salsa or the so-called "Hot Zopf", toasted Zopf with peanut butter, banana, maple syrup and pistachios.

We have once again feasted us through the menu and have ordered the following: “Big Plate”, slow egg on avocado feta salsa, “Hot Zopf”, “Reuben”, which is toasted rye bread topped with pastrami, sauerkraut, cheese, pickle and Thousand Island sauce.

We also tried a special dish called "Sweet Avocado", a sliced avocado with plain yoghurt, homemade granola, berries and strawberry sauce. To drink we had their fantastic iced coffee and two homemade drinks, a rooibos ice tea and a thyme-lemonade.

After short 15 minutes of waiting on the wonderful terrace, our order was already placed on our table - that's pretty quick considering how small their kitchen is and how jam-packed the Café was. After another 15 minutes, there was nothing left of the food.

We felt like in paradise, surrounded by flowers, warm sunrays on our faces, a bunch of damn delicious food in front of us and even bumblebees that joined us enjoying ourselves. A perfect Sunday in the middle of the city!
