The big catch | Bianchi
The restaurant "Bianchi" on Zurich's Limmatquai is not only one of the best addresses for fish lovers in the city, it is also a symbol of the cooperation between two successful Swiss family businesses. The fish restaurant Bianchi is a joint venture of the Bianchi and Bindella families, of which one of them is well known for the freshest seafood products and the other for several Italian restaurants in the city.
The elegant restaurant with Italian flair dedicates itself with passion to the finest fish dishes. Awarded 14 Gault Millau points, the Bianchi has developed into a first-class address for fish only. The bright and modern restaurant with an inviting and cozy ambience offers a large selection of fresh fish and seafood.
As a prelude we had a mixed platter with lobster tail on avocado fan, king prawn, scallop on mango salad and roasted mushrooms. We immediately noticed that the focus is clearly on the product here, which is why no frills end up on your plate at Bianchi. It is all about enjoying fresh and high quality seafood, which was excellently proven with the starter.
As an intermediate course, we were served a Bianchi classic: spaghetti alle vongole. This house speciality is popular among many guests as a starter or main course - no wonder, the fine tomato stock with garlic and peperoncini accompanies the fresh clams perfectly and makes this dish a culinary delight!
However, the Bianchi is not only known for this excellent pasta dish, but also for their splendid whole fish – prepared in salt crust, cooked in the oven or straight from the grill. Of course, we did not miss this spectacle and tried a whole sea bass in salt crust, which was skillfully opened and filleted directly at our table.
For the optimal taste experience of the fish, it only needed a good dash of excellent olive oil and a few drops of lemon juice - a buttery and tender pleasure! Accompanied by black Venere rice, spinach and grilled vegetables, the way to fish heaven was definitely paved.
Bianchi also splashes out on its desserts and serves a homemade Tiramisù coated in dark chocolate on a generous bed of wild strawberries. A pleasure for the palate and eyes.
It is not without reason that the bright, modern restaurant Bianchi on the Limmat is in demand among fish and seafood lovers: Here, you enjoy premium quality products prepared Mediterranean style and served by an experienced and trained team.
