Grias-di! | Fink's Südtiroler Knödelküche

Eating authentic South Tyrolean “Knödel” in the middle of Zurich? That's actually possible! Our latest discovery is Fink's Südtiroler Knödelküche, which focuses on simply one thing - “Knödel”. Fink's represents simplicity combined with creativity.

When we first entered Fink's, the decor and atmosphere won us over right away. It felt like sitting in a cozy chalet. For the interior, local, high-quality, South Tyrolean materials were used. Fink's was developed and realised with friends and you can tell that a lot of attention to detail was put into it.

We have never really eaten good, authentic Knödel and were therefore super excited to try them. You can choose how many Knödel you would like to eat. There are different options, such as the KnödelBIS which includes 2 Knödel of your choice for CHF 15.00. The selection is large; classics such as Bacon-, Spinach- or Cheese-Knödel but also the Beet-Knödel or vegan options such as Herb-, Pumpkin- or Leek-Knödel are on the menu. In addition, there are the specialties such as Porcini-, Pizza-, or Chard-Walnut-Knödel and many more. Wherever possible, they use products from South Tyrolean friends.

Since we visited Fink's at noon, we opted for the lunch menu, which included 2 Knödel, a side salad and water for CHF 20.00. Our choice was the Beet-, the Spinach- and the Chard-Walnut-Knödel. There are also seasonally different Knödel variants like Pumpkin-Knödel in Autumn.

We tried the Knödel and absolutely loved them! Fresh, beautifully arranged and simply delicious! All Knödel-dishes are served originally with grated DOP Parmesan cheese and melted butter - and yes, Knödel is definitely not a light dish, but since you can choose how many you would like to eat it is a treat, even for the little eaters among us.

The pink color of the Beet-Knödel catches the eye immediately and looks fantastic. Of course, we also had to try one of their sweet Knödel - so-called "Süsslinge". The choice was difficult as all of them made our mouths water. Apricot-, Nougat-, Plum- and Honey-Poppy-Seed-Knödel were available and we chose the Plum-Knödel and did not regret our choice. Tasty and definitely a MUST! For that Knödel alone, we would visit Fink's again.

Fink's is also an ideal restaurant for a "Knödel-Party" with friends. From 10 Knödel upwards, each only costs CHF 6.50 and you can try them together and taste your way through the whole menu! NomNom.

Along with the many Italian, Asian, and Swiss restaurants in Kreis 5, Fink's is the perfect South Tyrolean addition that has been missing from the Zurich gastronomy scene. The variety fits well in the neighbourhood and their Knödel are definitely the best we've had so far. In addition, the great hospitality of Victoria and her team is very refreshing and just makes you want to eat Knödel, all day, everyday!
